What do we cut?

Types of spare key we provide:

Transponder / Chipped Keys

The most common type of modern vehicle key. The chip inside must be programmed to your car’s immobiliser. We do this on-site.

Remote / Key Fob Keys

Combined key and fob units that allow keyless locking and unlocking. We cut, programme and test the remote functionality.

A Push button start on a vehicle that uses proximity keys.

Proximity / Smart Keys

Keyless entry and push-button start systems. We can supply and programme proximity keys for a wide range of modern vehicles.

Van & HGV Keys

We’re equipped to produce spare keys for commercial vehicles including vans and large HGVs, not just ordinary passenger cars.

Basic / Blade Keys

Older vehicles often use a straightforward cut key with no chip. We can cut these quickly and cost-effectively.

Why should you bother?

Reasons To Get A New Key:

Avoid a lockout bill

✓ Emergency lockout callouts cost significantly more than cutting a spare in advance. A small investment today can save you a stressful and expensive situation tomorrow.

Easy vehicle sharing

✓ If your car is used by more than one person, a partner, family member or employee, having a spare key means no more passing keys back and forth.

Keys can wear out

✓ Transponder chips and key fob electronics can fail. Having a working spare means you’re never stranded if your main key stops working unexpectedly.

Peace of mind

✓ Keeping a spare key somewhere safe at home means that if you ever lose or break your main key, you won’t be left without transport or have to pay for a costly replacement.

Spare Vehicle Key FAQs:

How much does a spare key cost?

Price varies depending on your vehicle make, model and the type of key required.

We always provide a free, no-obligation quote before any work begins.

As a guide, our prices are consistently lower than main dealer alternatives.

Do you come to me, or do I need to bring my vehicle somewhere?

We come to you.

That’s the whole point of our mobile service.

Whether you’re at home, at work, or anywhere else within our coverage area, Will will travel to your location with all the necessary equipment to cut and programme your key on the spot.

You don’t need to go anywhere.

Do I need to be at home for you to cut a spare key?

Yes.

For security reasons, we require the registered keeper or an authorised person to be present with proof of ownership (V5 logbook or similar) before we produce any key.

This protects you as a vehicle owner.

How long does it take?

Most spare key jobs are completed within one to two hours of our arrival.

Some complex programming jobs on high-security

How soon can you be here?

We always try to be with you the same day or the next working day.

We can get booked up and may have to prioritise emergency services like lost keys and lockouts.

We always work hard to provide the fastest, most efficient and affordable service, without compromising on quality.

Can you programme more than one spare key at the same time?

Yes, and this is often a cost-effective approach.

If you’d like two spare keys, having them both programmed in a single visit typically saves time and, in some cases, money compared to two separate callouts.

As part of our fee is based on call-out and travel, an extra key may be surprisingly affordable.

Just let us know when requesting your quote.

What vehicles can you cut spare keys for?

We carry equipment to service a very wide range of makes and models, including cars, vans and HGVs.

We regularly work with Audi, BMW, Citroen, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar, Kia, Land Rover, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Range Rover, Renault, Skoda, Suzuki, Toyota, Vauxhall, Volkswagen and Volvo.

If your make isn’t listed, don’t assume we can’t help. Get in touch, and we’ll confirm whether we can accommodate your vehicle.

Can you cut spare keys for vans and commercial vehicles?

Yes.

We’re equipped to produce spare keys for light commercial vans and larger HGVs, not just standard passenger cars.

This makes us a practical option for sole traders, small businesses and fleet operators who need a reliable and affordable mobile key service. compromising on quality.

Can you cut a spare if I only have one key?

Yes, absolutely.

In fact, this is exactly the situation we’d encourage you to act on.

Having just one key is a real risk; if it’s lost, broken or stops working, you’re left without a vehicle.

We can produce a second key from your existing one.

Is it cheaper than going to a dealership?

In almost every case, yes… often significantly so.

Main dealers charge a premium for key services, and you’ll typically have to wait days or weeks for an appointment.

We provide the same quality result, at your door, for less.

Will cutting a spare key affect my car’s security or insurance?

No.

A properly programmed spare key is no different from your original in terms of vehicle security.

All keys we produce are fully programmed to your specific vehicle’s immobiliser and security system.

Regarding insurance: having a spare key doesn’t typically affect your policy, but you should store it securely and never leave it in your vehicle.

If you’re unsure, it’s worth checking with your insurer.

We’d also recommend noting the existence of your spare key somewhere safe so it can be cancelled/reprogrammed if it’s ever lost or stolen.

My car is quite old… Can you still help?

In most cases, yes.

Older vehicles often use simpler key technology, which can actually make the process quicker and less expensive.

Whether your car uses a basic blade key, an early transponder system or something more modern, we’ll advise you at the quote stage on exactly what’s involved.

What area do you cover?

We’re based in Haywards Heath and cover approximately 40 miles, including Brighton, Crawley, Horsham, Worthing, Burgess Hill, Dorking, Oxted and many more towns across Sussex, Surrey and Kent.
